Trinbagonians talk. (54) Hygiene is the key

Life really change for us. We hav’ to be sanitary. If we not sanitary, we will feel de consequence of our ways in a awful way. Every time Paul did come home from liming wit he friends, he does take off he shoes an’ he clothes by de front door. Ah use to grumble about dat an’ I use to say dat he should not leave he clothes on de floor; he should put dem in de clothes hamper, buh for some reason he never did. One time, ah was goin’ to take-up de clothes from de floor, buh Harold did tell me doh do dat, just be happy dat he home safe. When he wake up, he go take dem up. A long time later, Paul  use to pick up de clothes off de floor an’ put dem in de washin’ machine to wash. Paul was doin’ dis for more dan 12 years now. Today dat is wah we all does hav’ to do. We life depend on dat. We hav’ to be alert an’ keep bein’ sanitary.

Life has changed for us. We have to be hygienic if we are not, we will feel the repercussions of our ways in a dreadful way. Every time Paul came home from hanging out with his friends, he used to take off his shoes and clothes by the front door. I used to complain about that and I used to say that he should not leave his clothes on the floor, he should put them in the clothes hamper, but for some reason he didn’t. On one occasion I was going to pick up the clothes, but Harold told me don’t, just be grateful that he came home safe. He will pick them up when he wakes up. Hours later, Paul would pick up the clothes and put them in the washing machine to wash. Paul has been doing this for more than 12 years. Today that is what we all have to do. It is important for us to be safe. Our life depends on it. We have to be vigilant and continue being hygienic. Hygiene is the key to a safe and healthy life.
