Trinbagonians talk. (46) Bathe with lime juice

Ah did grow up in a home, when you woke up on a mornin’ yuh shower, put on deodorant, an’ yuh dress for school, work or idling. When yuh reach home from school, work or idling yuh shower an’ den put on deodorant again. Ah used to put it on again, if ah was goin’ back outside.  Well, meh reason for talkin’ about dis is dat some people hav’ an underarm problem, an’ dey put on deodorant over an’ over again durin’ de day. Ah doh kno’ how dat does work for dem, buh ah kno’ for an underarm problem, meh parents did tell us to wash under we arms wit lime juice. Cut a lime in half take it into de shower. After we soap an’ rinse off, we rub one piece under each arm, squeezin’ out de juice. After dat we rinse off, dry we self den we put on deodorant. Lime juice does work. It make yuh perspire less an’ yuh smell fresh all day. Please note dat lime juice can irritate de skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of lime juice in 3 cups of water den use de liquid to wash under yuh arms. Rinse wit clean water

I grew up in a home when you woke up on a morning you shower, applied deodorant, and you dressed for school, work or lazing. When you arrived home from school, work or lazing you shower and then apply deodorant again. I would only apply it if I am going out again. Well, my reason for talking about this is that some people have an underarm problem, and they re-apply deodorant once or more times a day.  I don’t know how that works out for them, but I know for an underarm problem, my parents used to tell us to wash under our arms with lime juice. You cut the lime in half, and take it into the shower. After you soap and rinse off, you rub one piece under each arm, squeezing the juice. After rubbing it under your arm, rinse off, dry yourself, then apply deodorant. Lime juice does work. It makes you sweat less and you smell fresh all day. Please note that lime juice can irritate the skin so dilute 1 tablespoon of lime juice in 3 cups of water then use the liquid to wash under your arms. Rinse with fresh water.
