Trinbagonians talk. (50) The good Old Days

It was a sunny an’ breezy day so we sat under de mango tree. Yuh could hear how the breeze was blowing the leaves. De place was feeling nice so ah spread out a crocus bag on de ground so meh little sister, meh niece an’ I could sit down an’ play Ludo den Snakes an’ Ladders. About 10 feet away from whey we were sittin’ meh brothers were playin’ marbles pitch wit their friends. All de children in de neighborhood was outside doin’ somethin’ interestin’ an’ fun. At lunch time we used to go inside for lunch. Later on, we did come back outside to play cricket or dem boys an’ dem might go to de savanna to play football. An’ dat was a memory of dem good ol’ days in Point Fortin, Trinbago.  

It was a sunny and windy day so we sat under the mango tree. You could hear the rustling of the leaves. Outside felt really nice so I spread a crocus bag on the ground so my little sister, my niece and I could sit and play Ludo then Snakes and Ladders. About 10 feet away from where we were sitting my brothers were playing marbles pitch with their friends. All the children in the neighborhood were outside doing something interest and fun. At lunch time we would all go in for lunch. Hours later we would be back outside playing cricket or the boys would go to the savanna to play football. And that was a memory of the Good Old Days in Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago.
