Trinbagonians talk. (43) A mother is born

One of meh sisters did say to me, “A mother is born.” Ah did ask she what she mean by dat an’ she said, “Look at some of de women who does take care of children, dey did not give birth too. These women does give an’ do a lot for de children an’ dey doh ask for notin’ for demself. Dey does make sure dey are clever, educated an’ a honest to goodness human. Not because a woman gives birth to a child, does make her a mother, so, ‘A mother is born.”

One of my sisters said to me, “A mother is born.” I asked her what she meant by that and she said, “Look at some women who takes care of children that they did not give birth too. They make selfless sacrifices for these children and they don’t ask for anything in return. These children gain skills, knowledge and become honest to goodness humans. Not because a woman gives birth to a child, makes her a mother, so, ‘A mother is born.”
