“She Winked At Me”

I phoned her because her mother called to say that her boyfriend dumped her, and she was devastated. I could not believe that he did this to her after he told me that he would never leave her. He talked about how much he loved her and he intended to marry her. The phone kept ringing, but she didn’t answer it, so I went to see her. Her mother walked into her bedroom behind me. She hugged her and I watch my friend’s eyes well up with tears. I was becoming emotional then she smiled at me and winked her eye. The shock of this moment left me with my eyes wide opened.
