“Big Boys Don’t Cry”

I remember when I was a young girl, I heard a woman say to her son, “Shut up right now! Big boys don’t cry!” I was wonder if she was crazy? He just received more than four strikes from the whip she had in her hand… Wasn’t he in pain? Many adults would inflict pain on children then tell them to shut up. In most cases the male child would be told to take it like a man~ Why! Don’t men have heightened feelings … hmm.

Dogs cry, cats cry, pigs cry; all animals cry, even trees cry, so why must a man hold his hurt inside ---drowning in his tears?
