Fingering food is nasty and unholy.

If you want to get me angry, let me see you fingering food. I call it fingering when I see fingers squeezing and crushing food making it into crumbs or mush. I sometimes see the shape of a finger nail imprinted on apples, pears, peach etc., that is the mark of someone digging their nail into the fruit.
Many people are hungry and one fruit might be the only meal they can afford for the day. Why play with food? Why contaminate it? It is SINFULNESS! WICKEDNESS!
One day I walked into a vegetable store. 5 people were in the store. There were slices of watermelon covered with plastic-wrap on a stand and a young girl about 16 was standing by it. She was in conversation with a woman who was on line to pay for some items. I walked around picking up items. I eventually walked over to the watermelon. The young girl was still talking to the woman, but one of her hands was on a piece of watermelon and she was squeezing it. It looked bruised and runny. There were also bruises on many other pieces of watermelon. I realized that she was fingering the watermelon. I stood looking at her squeezing the piece of watermelon while she talked to the woman as though she was just waiting on her.
What the hell are you doing! People have to eat that and you are sticking your nasty fingers into it! You are damn nasty and that is sinful!
They both looked at me and walked quickly out of the store. The manager came and he saw the watermelon and he proceeded to throw them into the garbage…
I hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy and be safe.

When the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. ‘Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you, LORD, have called forth your praise’?”

Logos — Jesus Christ, so named in St. John’s Gospel, as the word of God, the personification of the wisdom of God, and divine wisdom as the means of human salvation. (Dictionary)
When you are planning to do something unprincipled, outlandish or what people would deem as unacceptable behavior and a child say to you, “Don’t do that! You need to listen to him or her.

Innocence is precious and children are precious. They are the logos in our lives. Logos is the voice of reason and Reason is God.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.— Confucius (551 BC-479 BCE)

Some of the shows that I see on TV land I sometimes wish that it can happen in the real world.

I love the movie Minority Report. I look at the series and it is good. In Minority Report the police are able to arrest murders before they commit their crime. This would be the greatest thing to happen in the real world.

I do not mean to offend anyone but RAPE! THE VIOLENT CRIME DONE TO CHILDREN, WOMEN AND MEN! Gets me really railed up! Many people get away with rape and I think it is UPSETTING.

I cannot comprehend how a person is able to force themselves on anyone. I also cannot understand how a man can watch a child and get a rise.
A dear old friend told me that she was raped when she was 8 years. From the moment she said that I got emotional and the tears kept flowing as she told me her story.
She said they lived in the country. Everyday she walked by the neighbor’s house to go to school. On most days he and his wife would be sitting in their gallery. One day when she was going to school, she saw him standing in the distance. When she got to where he was she said good morning. He did not answer but he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the bushes. She started to scream and tried to get away but he warned her that he would kill her. After he was finished brutalizing her he left her there. She said he probably was hoping that she died, but she crawled out of the bushes and onto the road. Later that evening she was found. She never saw the neighbor again.

Good morning to you. I hope today is a better day for you than yesterday. Enjoy it and be safe.

Truth supported by discipline is like a hot knife on butter. With it you can cut through fear, doubt, and the annoying habits which erode your discipline and cast shadows on the truth. If you really want to grow spiritually, you must discipline your mind to seek truth, your mouth to speak the truth, and yourself to live in truth. Only then will your heart be opened to know the truth of God. Faith in the Valley — Lessons for women on the journey to peace, Iyanla Vanzant.

I hope your day is going good. Enjoy and be safe.

I think that when you get dressed in the morning, sometimes you're really making a decision about your behavior for the day. Like if you put on flipflops, you're saying: 'Hope I don't get chased today.' 'Be nice to people in sneakers.' Demetri Martin.

One of the nicest things I remember about growing up in Trinidad and Tobago.

It really doesn’t matter where you are from in Trinbago, if you go O-HE-O-HO or BEHIN’ GOD BACK! (FAR FROM WHERE YOU LIVE) You will meet someone you know or they will know someone you know and then de ol’ talk (chitchat) does start… It does be nice... Real nice.

I might be sounding like a broken record, but I love children and I do not like them to be hurt. Be very careful where you let your child/children pick up snow!

After snow falls the area looks pristine. It gives you a feeling of a place that is pure, immaculate, not yet ruined by human or animal encroachment, but you would be surprised.
When Paul was 3 years we were holding hands and walking in the snow. A woman behind us was coughing. It was a rattle kind of cough. She walked by us then she spat. A junk of yellow cold hit the snow and that yellow thing slipped in and disappeared. The snow looked like new…. Spotless!
I said, “Paul, did you see that?”
“Yes.”
“You see why I always told you that the snow is nasty and I would take it off of a car to give you?”
“Yes.”
“Remember never to take it from the ground.” Okay.”
When my Sarah was 2, she was eating chocolate while we were walking in the snow. When we got to the building we lived in, I told her to spit on the snow near the building. The chocolate colored saliva hit the snow and it slipped in. The snow looked spotless.
“Did you see that?”
“It gone,” Sarah said.
“Yes and the snow look clean, but it is not. Do not take snow from the ground. Take it off of a parked car.”
“Okay.”
One day some school children were playing snowball fight. A girl picked up some snow and there was dog do in it.
Another day a lady was walking her dog and the dog did a do. It slipped into the snow and disappeared.
I get pissed because there are areas away from human traffic, where people can walk their dogs.
Please talk to your children about picking up snow from the ground.

If you are going out be very careful. Ice and snow is coming down from the tops of buildings. Remember to wear your shades. The sun reflecting on the snow hurts your eyes.

Happy Sunday to you and yours.

Be respectful! Bring peace and happiness to your mind, heart and soul.
As you get on the bus or you walk into a room say good morning, good evening or good night. If you get a response, your heart will feels pleased. If they heard you and did not respond, don’t hurt your heart. The person/s is hurting his/her heart. Their conscience will bother them … causing them an unhappy moment. (A guilty conscience doesn’t need and accuser.)
Ignore the slight and think about a happy moment in your life. Have a nice day and be safe.

NYC is shutting down.

If you are driving on the road, after 2:30pm and it’s not an emergency, you will be arrested and your car will be towed.

Blizzard of 2016

A little after nine last night, I saw the first set of snow flakes. It snowed all night and it is still snowing, expecting to stop later tonight. If you are heading out, bundle up and be careful. It is hard to walk even driving is a real mess. The MTA is going to suspend the bus service at noon… I hope you are in a warm place.

We are expecting a blizzard.

Last night the weather was in the single digits. I saw on the news some Social workers were walking the streets of New York City, looking for the homeless. They were trying to get them to go into a shelter. Some of them do not like the shelters because of the unsafe conditions. Those who did not want to go indoors were asked to go into the subway and get on a train.
A homeless man was sitting on the street. Some of the social workers coaxed him to get on a train. He agreed and one of them swiped a metro card and he went into the subway. (Hopefully he did get on a train.)
The social worker was then commended for getting the man to take shelter. She said it is not a hard thing to do. All people want is a kind word and to be treated like a human being. She is so right and I wish them the best. Right now it is 24º Fahrenheit and it feels like below Zero Fahrenheit in some areas.

I hope you are in a warm place. Enjoy your day and be safe.

A wonderful safe day to you and yours and remember, Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house. He will become weary of you and hate you. Prov. 25:17

Your Beliefs Are Yours and I have no misgivings with that. I have a problem when you try to demand that I make it my own. People who know me well know that I was christened in the Roman Catholic Church, Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago. I attended church every Sunday morning and Sunday school at 2 O’clock every Sunday evening. I made First Communion then Confirmation so I am a staunch Catholic. Do not think because I am a Catholic, I do not read the bible. The first time I read it, it took me one year and six months. I started from Genesis and I ended with Revelation. I could tell you how much of our daily life style is in that book, but my discussion about the bible is with me and my family. We need to edify each other about our beliefs in God —AND THAT IS THAT!
At times when people start to talk to me about religious beliefs, I listen attentively and then I say, “Thank you for sharing your views. I will think about it.” When they walk away, I always say, “I really would like to see how holy and worthy you are to God, when no one is looking. I wish I was a fly on the wall in your home to see your actions…”

I respect your belief! Have some damn respect for mine! If you have a problem with me, FB made it easy… Put your mouse on un-friend and press click!

If you have to be out in the cold, bundle up. If you have to be out in the heat, stay hydrated. What ever the issue today remember to treat yourself right. Have a wonderful safe day.

If you come in like a pig, you go meet me like a butcher.

I don’t know the author, but many years ago, that statement was on the wall of a business place in Trinidad and Tobago

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Happy Sunday to you and yours. I hope you are having a wonderful day. ‘Good for you’ was one of the sayings by the old folks from Trinidad and Tobago.

They would say it when something good happened to you.
There were some mean-spirited people who used to say it when something bad happened to you. You may fall, cut yourself, etc., and they would shout out, “Good fuh yuh!” (Good for you).
If I say it to you then something good did happened to you and I am wishing you the best. My wish for you today is that something that is ‘Good for you’ will happen to you…

The hardest thing is to give up what you love to eat and drink. If you prefer to feel good you would slowly but surely give it up.

Look at this chart and see what you eat and drink and what it is doing to your body. Aches and pains can be the result from what we eat and drink. Start paying attention to your body and what it is telling you.
I am telling you this because of my experience. Eating flour and using dairy products causes me to feel sluggish… my limbs feel stiff.
I told my little sister Suzy what was happening to me and with her serious yet soft tone she said, “Okay, no flour and dairy products for a month then we will see how you feel.

Okay I said and started my journey on January 01, 2016. LORD, have mercy it is a hard road to walk. I fell off the road on January 06, 2016 and on January 12, 2016. I had potato bread, Crix and cheese… I felt sluggish. On the days when I did not put flour and dairy products into my mouth I felt good. No stiffness in my legs and no sluggishness. Today I am back on the road. ‘NO FLOUR and DAIRY. Every time I feel to eat or drink those two not good for me items, I say the ‘Our father prayer’. It gives me the strength to walk away…

Twenty six years ago our friend Leroy (now deceased) insisted that we meet.
On the first day of January 1990, (a bitterly cold day) Leroy took me and two friends to Harold’s home. When we arrived I was introduced to him and his mother. Although he had a serious demeanor, he was very funny. I met Harold again on January 13, 1990… his and his mother’s birthday. He was very pleasant to me, but his mother showed me how much she did not like me.
One of my friends even said to me that he doesn’t suit me.”
I said, “What!?”
“Can’t you see what is wrong? He is an overweight, bald headed man with a punch?” She said. Years later she said, “I am sorry for saying what I said about Harold. He is a real nice guy. Does he have a brother?”
Harold’s neat, clean, kind and intelligent ways stood out and to top it off he made me laugh. It is a good feeling when someone can make you laugh. When they do it every day as if it is a normal thing to do then that is EPIC!

Happy Birthday to my husband, I hope he lives to see many more. I love him so much.

“Live your life”

Stop worrying about the people who do not support you.  Thank God for blessing you with your gift…your talent.
Stop worrying about the people who trash you, tell lies about you. Thank God for giving them the energy to make others know that you are alive — breathing.
Stop worry about the negative vibrations that many of them will convey. Thank God for the strength and the courage to pay no attention to them. Live your life and love it too.

Enjoy your day and be safe.

I like David Bowie’s music… I like this quote… May he RIP.

I'm in awe of the universe, but I don't necessarily believe there's an intelligence or agent behind it. I do have a passion for the visual in religious rituals, though, even though they may be completely empty and bereft of substance. The incense is powerful and provocative, whether Buddhist or Catholic. David Bowie – (1947-2016)

“Happy Sunday to you and yours”

For some reason I see the color yellow every where. Since childhood I must look outside in the morning and the area always had a tinge of yellow to me whether the sun is shining or not. To me yellow makes everything bright and that is happiness to me.
If happiness is a state of mind, many people need to put their mind into that state. I listen to a big man talk. He boasts about how rich he is. Every time he makes the statement the curl of his lips and the expression in his eyes tells how unhappy he is. After he stops talking about his richness he starts outrageously trashing a person… To be contentious and disdainful in life makes you unhappy. This man is an unhappy man…

Happy Saturday to you and yours. Enjoy your day and be safe.

“Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.” ― Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970)

I heard some prison officers at Rikers Island were attacked by inmates. I wander who or what caused this situation but something did and I pray that the truth will prevail. Do you remember Kalief Browder?

This is so heartbreaking. It takes a village and we have to be there for our children. LORD, have mercy. Our children are falling through the cracks. They are the cash register for the system.
At 16, Kalief Browder, was arrested for allegedly stealing a backpack. He was in prison at Rikers Island for 3 years awaiting trial. (Why? He is black and the law is different for N). If he had pleaded guilty for stealing the backpack, he would have been released. He refused, always saying that he did not take the backpack. He was viciously abused by prison guards and prisoners. He tried to commit suicide, and he spent more than 400 days in solitary confinement. In 2013 his case was dismissed. On Saturday Kalief killed himself.
I don’t know this child but my heart breaks for him and his family. My LORD and my God, have mercy on Kalief’s soul. I pray that his journey home is safe and trouble free…
I wonder if the lawmaker, the organization for maintaining law and the people enforcing correct behavior, does sleep peacefully after all the injustice done to law abiding citizens…

A happy Thursday to you an yours... Enjoy your day and be safe. A Prayer for you.

A Prayer for you.
Dear God give me the strength and courage to ask for what I want and to believe that I will get it.
Fear not! Stand your ground, and you will see the victory the LORD will win for you today. The LORD himself will fight for you: you have only to keep still. Ex 14:13-14
LORD I do believe; help my unbelief. Amen. Mark 9:23.

I believe that LIFE is living individually, freely existing. (A Valentine Joseph)

I just want to say that your life is your life and how you treat life it is going to treat you the same way. You look at the other person’s life and you like it. You want it. Your aim is to take it by any means necessary, but that person’s life doesn’t want you. It doesn’t love you and it doesn’t even like you, so it is not going to treat you kind. Learn to live your life and love it too.

“On a personal note”

Everyday my husband and my children drink cold water (winter, spring, summer and fall) when they are having breakfast. I am a hot tea, coffee or hot Milo etc., drinker.
Every time I see them putting ice in a glass, I used to complain because I believe that you should start off your day with a hot drink. After a big discussion about the cold water, I lost, so I let it go.
One day it suddenly hit me that they drink water and they are fine… The drinks that I have been drinking are acidic. The acid was causing lots of aches and pains in my body so water (not ice cold) is my new breakfast drink and I am feeling good.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

“My Spin on a prenuptial”

Women this is 2016!  If you are asked to sign a prenuptial, you should not sign away your rights and accept his demands before your read it thoroughly.
If you are blindly in love, and the prenuptial is no big thing to you, sign it then do not cry over spilled milk, when the shit hits the fan.
If I am getting married and I am asked to sign a prenuptial:-
1. I will not be bullied into signing away my rights. (Being bullied is when he takes you to his lawyer’s office and they brandish you with the prenuptial, or you are home with him and he hands it to you, or one of his relatives comes to your abode and speaks to you in a subtle yet firm way suggesting that you sign it.)
2. I will make 2 copies of his prenuptial. One is for my lawyer and the other copy is for me to read so that I can highlight the things I disagree with.
3. After reading and comparing notes with my lawyer. I am going to prepare my prenuptial for him to sign.
4. One clause in my prenuptial; If he cheats, I get a quick divorce and a huge settlement.
5. We have to sit down together with our lawyers for the final agreement then signatures.
6. I am not going to sign his prenuptial if he is not going to sign my prenuptial.
7. No signatures no wedding.
After the break-up, I will cry for how long the tears flow then I am going to live my life and enjoy it too.
A wonderful safe day to you.

I wish you all the good things that life has to offer.
