Trinbagonians talk. (9)

Doh put all yuh eggs in one basket. (Do not invest all you have into one thing.)

Doh count yuh chickens before dey hatch. (Wait until you have the item, before you claim it.)

When it rains, it pours. (Before a person can fix a bad situation, they are faced with another.)

Dat is ah heavy burden to carry. (Someone in a stressful situation.)

People wit’ glass windows, shouldn’t throw stones. (Don’t talk about others, when you or your relatives behave the same way.)

Yuh only buyin’ cat in bag. (Paying for something you haven’t check out.)

Yuh too dam’ hasty! (Someone in a hurry to do something and it did not work.)

Do so doh like so. (A person gets upset when the exact thing they did to someone, is done to them.)

Ah does play dead to ketch corbeau alive. (A person making a culprit believe that they don’t know of their crime, so they can catch them in the act.)

All shut eye, eh sleep. (A person who pretends.)

Doh cut off yuh nose to spoil yuh face. (Do not help when you cannot afford too.)

Yuh does live beyond yuh means. (Someone who over spend.)
