Some Trinidad and Tobago Colloquial Language. Every Trinbagonian does talk like this, especially when they are liming. (Hanging out.) (1)

Aye! (Hello)

Wah goin’ on. (What is going on.)

Ah dey! (I am okay.)

Wah yuh say? (What did you say?)

Ah does have yuh bes’ interest at heart. (You want the best for somebody.)

Yuh better watch yuh tongue. (Be careful of what you say.)

Yuh blood too near yuh skin. (A sensitive person.)

De person who does bring come, is de person who does carry go. (The person who tells you about others will talk about you.)

Ah only doin’ dis an’ then ah done. (Decide to do something and nothing else.)

Ah does have to fen’ for meh self. (To stand up for yourself.)

Wha’ yuh did go make yuh eat yuh heart out. (What you did will make your conscience bother you.)

Meh eh adding no sauce to dat. (I am not commenting about a situation.)
