There goes the seventh month of the year... 2015.

The Sun is shining brightly. It is a beautiful day; the last day of July 2015. My birthday is in two days. Getting younger is a part of life. When I was child I never thought about it. I used to live my life, ignore discouraging people and thoughts. Today there is no change in that department. I am living my life and enjoying it too. Enjoy your day and be safe…

Faith in ourselves, for some of us, that is a lot harder than faith in God. Proof on TNT.

What is the point in God forgiving you, if you refuse to forgive yourself? Proof on TNT.

The LORD”S PRAYER is not a poem so stop saying it as though you are reciting. It is to pay homage to the LORD, to meditate for your blessing and your protection.

Our father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy WILL be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Another day another story and we are all a part of it. Thank God, for making me, see another day. I hope today is a better day for you than yesterday. Enjoy and be safe.

Mammy, mammie. A guy came to deliver something on Saturday. I questioned the delivery so he said, “Mammy, this is all they gave me. See here on the delivery paper?”
When I was getting out of a taxi yesterday the driver opened the door for me and he said, “Take your time mammy. Son help your mammy okay.”
Paul said, “We will help her.”
“They will,” I said.
“While we were waking up the stairs Sarah said, “Mom you don’t get upset when anyone call you mammy. Some people get angry when they are called that.”
I said, “I do not get upset because mammy means mother. I do not like to be called babe, babes… that diminishes you.

Prov. 4:23-27 With closest custody, guard your heart, for in it are the source of life. Put away from you dishonest talk, deceitful speech put far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead and your glance be directly forward. Survey the path for your feet, and let all your ways be sure. Turn neither to the right nor to the left. Keep your foot from evil.

A wonderful safe day to you and yours.

No rest for the wicked.

Good men, does fall asleep and get a restful night. Wicked men, does toss and turn all night thinking about the wickedness they did and the wickedness they are planning to do.

Happy Sunday to you and yours, I hope everything is going in your favor. Enjoy your day and be safe. Remember; “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821)

“Instinct is a woman’s forte!”

Since childhood, I have noticed that when a woman is in difficulty and another woman sees her plight, she will help her. There is a female bond that is never-ending, yet some of us let jealousy and extreme dislike cloud our judgment. Jealousy breaths lies and deceitfulness. It may work in your favor for a time, but then it would end in calamity. Remember, “One woman’s cry is all women cry.” That is how God intended it.
A wonderful safe day to you and yours.

I arrived in NY in April 1989 and I was excited and very trusting. When I got my apartment and I started getting mail, junk mail used to come ever so often and I would open them and read. Someone was always selling something or saying you win something. They said I won a camera. The camera used Kodak 35mm film. They even sent some pictures taken by the camera. I was excited and I paid the $12.95 tax and shipping. Two weeks later I got the camera. It had a weird name, was black and silver in color, made in China, light like a feather so I put it on my scale. Weight 14.8 ounces. I put the film in and when I pressed the button to take a picture, it broke…
In our moments of liming (hanging out) One of my friends after he had a few drinks used to say to the chatterbox in the lime, “You talks too many. You don’t know when to hush,” That used to be a funny moment.
He talks too many! I deem him narcissistic because of his tone of voice and his attitude. The old folks in Trinbago would say, “He is a mauves Langue —(movaylang) man.
The last thing I have to say, “He is not going to apologize and his hair is still going to be yellow…”

Since I posted “On A Personal Note --- A Band-Aid for everything” I have been seeing people with their nails looking a bit discolored and dry raised skin at the side of the nail. I know that laundry soap can cause this to happen. I had a friend whose finger was like that and I told her to try what was tried on my finger, without the Detol. She dipped her fingers in plain water as hot as she could take it, until the water cools a bit. Everyday she washed dishes in water as hot as she could take. Two weeks later her finger was back to normal

Some people put a band-aid on every cut, but every cut doesn’t need a band-aid.
One day I was cleaning the bathroom and my finger slipped under the cover that blocks the drain when you fill the bidet. As it slipped it slid around the edge of the cover and it cut me under my finger nail. It was hurting and bleeding so I put some mentholated spirit on it then a band-aid. I did not want this finger to bother me because I was leaving in a matter of hours on a plane out of the country.
The cut was hurting real bad when I arrived at my destination, but I ignored it, only changing the band-aid when it got wet. Days later it stopped hurting, so I thought it was healed. When I took off the band-aid the area that was cut looked green and I knew that was a major infection —Gangrene. I was in another country, and the thought of going to the hospital and the doctor cutting off my finger had me petrified. I showed the finger to my hostess and she took me to see a friend of hers who was a nurse. The first thing the nurse said, “Oh dear, that is not good, and you have to go to the hospital.” I started to cry and then she said, “I could let you dip your finger in hot water with Detol in it?” I agreed. The water was very hot, but when I put my finger in it, I felt no pain. She changed the water several times and then the water started to look green.  My fears heightened when I saw it, but she reassured me that was a good thing. The finger started to bleed and it was hurting. She dried the area, did not put a band-aid on it, told me to make sure I did not wet it and remember not every cut needs a band-aid. A week later my finger was perfectly healed…

Trinidad and Tobago belongs to God.

Trinbagonians, do you remember that Trinidad and Tobago was dedicated to God by Christopher Columbus?

Christopher Columbus men wanted to kill him because they believed that there was no land to be found… He prayed to God to find land and he promised God he would dedicate it to him if he finds it. On July 31st 1498, they saw 3 mountain peaks. When they got to shore he knelt down and he dedicated the island to God. Do not loose sight of God, he is right there, every single minute of the day!
I am looking from afar at Trinidad and Tobago and it is hurtful to hear the insulting words that are spilling out of the mouths of the bigots. I am glad that they are speaking out loud so that we know who-is-who and how they feel about us. Dr. Rowley is handling it well. I pray for strength and courage for him and the PNM. Also for PEACE for Trinidad and Tobago. Tobagonians did right by not voting kamla and her lackeys in. Let’s see if Trinidadians are going to do as Tobagonians did.

My father used to say, “Heaven and hell is right here on earth, oui.”

When I look around and I see the kindness, thoughtfulness, love from a person … that is heaven. When I see injustice, cruelty, deceitfulness and violence, from a person … that is hell. So I agree that heaven and hell is right here on earth.
Let’s talk about hell. Who made up that word? Hmm. Hell is a curse word. It is not in the Bible.
Some people would have an argument with another person and they would say, to them, “Go to hell!” You just prayed an evil prayer making a malevolent appeal; to a supernatural being; to harm the person.
The valley of Gehenna, The valley of Hinnom and the lake of fire can be found in the bible. I believe that the word hell is a man made curse. Do not add it to your words.
Rev. 21:8. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

On a personal note. I can tell you for a fact. I took cinnamon for a fever. I boiled a stick and sweetened it with brown sugar. I sweat like crazy and the fever left. It worked with ginger for the cold. I am not diabetic but I know it works for diabetes.

Cinnamon health benefits
Cinnamon is well regarded because of its antioxidant properties. It also contains calcium, manganese, iron and dietary fiber. It is known to help prevent diabetes, improve heart health and brain function, fight off colon cancer and relieve arthritis among others.

Fight off diabetes: Cinnamon can help individuals who are affected by diabetes as it works to improve the natural insulin activity occurring in the body. It helps individuals metabolize sugar in a more efficient manner so that the body will be prompted to produce less insulin. Therefore, it is also effective in regulating blood sugar levels.

Prevent heart disease: Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties which make them effective in protecting the heart against damage and infection, particularly in the arteries when they end up clogged by fatty foods. Cinnamon is also regarded for its ability to fight off bad cholesterol thereby preventing heart diseases.

Stimulate brain function: According to research studies, cinnamon also has a powerful effect in the brain function. It can help improve metal alertness. It has soothing properties as well that can calm the nerves.

Relieve arthritis: Individuals suffering from arthritic pain can count on cinnamon for relief. According to a Copenhagen University study, patients with arthritis who take cinnamon powder are more likely to be relieved from pain.

Relieve common colds and flu: Cinnamon also contains effective properties in relieving the common cold and flu especially when it is combined with ginger. The mixture can help by stimulating circulation. Such ability is also helpful with arthritic pain and muscle aches.

“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.”… Lao Tzu (604 BC, Zhou Dynasty) Have a wonderful day and be safe.

“No peace”

This morning I am thinking about Trinidad and Tobago and the world. When will the heartlessness, cruelty, callousness, cold-bloodedness, mercilessness, unkindness, pitilessness end?
I do not wish people bad, but I wish that the people who commit crimes on the innocent pay for it as soon as possible. Day by day their conscience should be cluttered with their crimes so that their days are nerve-racking and their nights sleepless. No peace for the wicked.

Guns, guns, guns… Here we go again and this time it touches close to home. This is the saddest thing and most unexpected, I ever experienced. I could only imagine what my friend Ozra Nellyne Peters is going through. Dear God please give her strength and courage to face the days ahead.”

I feel so hurt because I knew this family since I was a child growing up in Techier Village, Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago.
Mrs. Peters, her husband Mr. Peters and my parents were friends. I remember when I was a child, on early mornings; Mr. Peters would come to our home and his voice saying, “Morning Mr. Val, Miss Val, would wake me from sleep.”
There were times when I came home from school and Mrs. Peters would be sitting talking to my mother.
My parents and Mr. Peters passed away by natural causes and it was sad but through all the hurt it was endurable. Yesterday I saw Ozra had posted on FB, a picture of her mother with the caption, “RIP mom, we love you.”
I said, “Oh gosh, Mrs. Peters died,” and I was thinking that it was natural causes. How wrong I was. She was shot and killed along with other family members…

Ida B. Wells was born on July 16, 1862. (She is 153 years old today). Google honored the “fearless and uncompromising” woman with a Doodle of her typing away on typewriter, a piece of luggage by her side.

In 1884 when she was 22 she was asked by the conductor of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad Company to give up her seat on the train to a white man … 70 years before Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on an Alabama bus.
Ida said in her autobiography, “The moment he caught hold of my arm I fastened my teeth in the back of his hand. I had braced my feet against the seat in front and was holding to the back, and as he had already been bitten he didn’t try it again by himself. He went forward and got the baggage man and another man to help him and of course they succeeded in dragging me out.”

The kind of characters I am coming in contact with on FB, are not like the people in the neighborhood … village/s I grew up in and around. Some of the people on FB are annoying and creepy… They must be a part of the new world order.

If I accept a friend request on FB, it doesn’t mean that I want to chat with the person in messaging. I am not saying that they cannot message me, but do not keep messaging me as though we are on a secret mission and we have to chat in secret. I don’t see any of those chatting people commenting or liking my posts. They all act as though they are married or involved so they have to hide to make a comment.

There are some people in your life, from the moment you hear their voice, you know you are going to end up laughing or feeling good after your conversation.

A dear friend called me one day and she said, “Allo, you busy?”
“I am never busy for you,” I said.
“Okay. This morning in church Pastor said. “This is something that I always wanted to do and I never got the chance to do it, but today I am doing it. Is there anyone in the church this morning who is 100 yrs or older? Nobody stood up. “Is there anyone who is 90 to 100?” Nobody stood up. “80 to 90?” Nobody stood up.
I was thinking that I know a few people in the church who are in their 80s, so I whispered ‘A, A. Why, they not standing up?’ Anyway, pastor continued. “70 to 80 year?” I stood up because I am 75. Three other people also stood up. Two young people came up to us and wrote our name and age in a book then pastor continued 60 to 70 and then 50 to 60. When he was finished, he looked in the books, called out the oldest age and name, which was mine, then he told a young man to hand me $75. He continued giving out money to everyone who stood up. The church suddenly got a bit noisy and one lady behind me said, “I am sorry I did not stand up.” A lady sitting next to her said, “I was telling you to stand up. You would have gotten $80.” I started to laugh. “Allo girl, pastor started service, but I was laughing.”

“Work does not die, it lives. Everyday there is a chore”

Do you know where your child is? This statement always comes to me when I hear a parent complaining that, it is 7am or a later time and their child or children are still sleeping. You need to think about the parent who is wondering where their child is, and how distressing to their soul that thought is. It is the summer holidays, they do not have to go to school or work so why should that be a problem. If there are chores to do, let them know the night before that they have to do this and that, and you would be waking them at a particular time. If there are no chores to do, leave them! If the chores can be done at a later time, leave them! Stop letting little things upset your soul. Work doesn’t die. If you children are still in bed, it is not the end of the world! It is a great piece to your soul that you know where your child or children are. Isn’t that peace unto your soul?
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Happy Sunday to you and yours. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Enjoy your day and be safe. Something to make you laugh.

A trini can’t find a job in Barbados so he opens a clinic and puts a sign outsideGET TREATMENT FOR $20 – IF NOT CURED, GET BACK $100”
A Bajan lawyer thinks this is a great opportunity to earn $100 and goes to the clinic…
Lawyer: “I have lost my sense of taste”
Trini: “Nurse, bring medicine from box no. 22 and put 3 drops in patient’s mouth.
Lawyer: “Ugh… this is kerosene”
Trini: “Congrats, your sense of taste is restored. Give me $20.
The annoyed lawyer goes back after a few days to recover his money.
Lawyer: “I have lost my memory. I cannot remember anything”
Trini: Nurse, bring medicine from box no. 22 and put 3 drops in his mouth”
Lawyer: (annoyed): This is kerosene. You gave this to me last time for restoring my taste”
Trini: “Congrats, you got your memory back. Give me $20.
The fuming lawyer pays him, and then comes back a week later determined to get back $100.
Lawyer: “My eyesight has become very weak”
Trini: “Well, I don’t have any medicine for that, so take this $100”
Lawyer (staring at the note): But this is $20, not $100”
Trini: “Congrats, your eyesight is restored. Give me $20”
You can’t beat a Trini…

My father’s favorite words – “Damn fool”

Every time someone did something stupid, he would say, “Look at the damn fool.” In a tone that made the situation hilarious so I love this quote. "He who hesitates is a damned fool." - Mae West (1892-1980)

Happy Saturday. Enjoy your day, be safe and remember, Not everyone who is good-looking is empathetic. Not everyone who is ugly is malevolent.

Susannah Mushatt Tee Jones is the world’s oldest person. She was born on July 6, 1899 in Alabama and moved to New York City in 1923, lives in Canarsie, Brooklyn, NY. She eats bacon eggs and grits every morning for breakfast. After breakfast she chews 5 double mint gums…

Why look at another woman when you have a wife. Every time I think about Bill Cosby I get vex … “He is a damn fool.”

The Black male in America and in most of the world, is not labeled as an honest to goodness person... He is labeled as a beast and Bill Cosby is a born American … grew up and lived in America so he knows what life is like for Black Americans… especially the males.
He has a doctor rate in education and no commonsense. If he had commonsense he would have seen a doctor to help him with his unholy perverted mind. Money was not a problem so as far as I am concerned Bill Cosby excuse for his predicament, is his love for his perverted mind.

Rev. 21:8. “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

What kind of a man or woman drugs a person to have sex with them … violate them? Is he or she stupid to think that the drugged person would not know that they are being violated? I believe the people who do things like that are scum!

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

A wolf in sheep’s clothing.

The things that the women are saying about Bill Cosby are true. He put himself out to the world as a real good father figure and an upstanding man. I am not disappointed nor am I upset because as my father always used to say to me, “See me outside then come and live with me or be in my presence for a while then you will see the beast I am.”

Aloe Vera (Aloes) — for contusion, swelling and burns.

One day I fell down, bruised my knees and I hit my hand. I did not say anything to my parents because they would give me a piece of aloe to swallow. My sister told my mother and she said, “I heard you fell. What part of your body did you hit?”
“I only bruised my knees,” I said.
Although I said that she looked at me closely then she said, “There is a bump on your hand.”
“Yes, but it is not hurting.”
She went outside in the yard, cut a piece of aloe about one inch by two inches, crushed it up, put it in a glass, then handed it to me and said, “Drink this.”
I held the glass and looked at the slimy bitter tasting liquid listening to her say, “Drink it. It will melt the blood clots.”
“Oh gosh wait, wait I will drink it,” I would say then I would hold my nose, put the glass to my mouth and drink. The aloe would slip down my throat leaving a horrible bitter taste in my mouth.

Every one of us had a failing moment in our life because we are not perfect so when you talk to your child or children, stop talking and acting as though you are perfect. Not one of us had a perfect childhood. Something disheartening happed to us during our school years. We all did something wrong. The school year is over and I want to remind Mothers, fathers and Caregivers that ‘A FAILED GRADE IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD’.

Stop wanting your child to be like so-and-so’s child who did exceptional in school. Start working on the next chapter of your child’s life. Your child was bless with a talent —A passion. Have a serious talk to find out what he or she likes to do and get them involved in it. Learn a trade. Blue color workers always have a job. Enjoy your day and be safe.
