“Self Praise”

I was having a conversation with a group of people and one of them said, “I am a very nice person.”

One person said, “We know.”

Another just rolled her eyes and turned her head.”

An elderly person in the group said, “Self-praise is no recommendation. I don’t profess to be a nice person … When I walk away from you … If you miss me then you know that I am a nice person.
