Trinbagonians
you know living in Trinbago there is always an excursion to some part of the
country on a Saturday. Friday night you start cooking and getting everything
ready for the trip. The most amount of shit talk —(jokes) is on an excursion. The
more some people drink rum is the more shit talk you get from them. The trip
used to be hilarious. Just a fun filled day.
Last
night I blended; garlic, onion, cilantro and scallions in vinegar then I
seasoned some chicken. I left the chicken to marinate —(soak) for an hour.

Thank God for seeing another day. Enjoy and be safe. I hope you had a blessed Friday night. My night was eventful … A bit of nostalgia. For a moment I really thought I was going on an excursion… bus ride to Las Cuevas in Trinidad and Tobago. A trip to Las Cuevas was my favorite bus ride.

Just as a mother finds pleasure in taking her little child on her lap, there to feed and caress him, in like manner our loving God shows His fondness for His beloved souls who have given themselves entirely to Him and have placed all their hope in His goodness. ― Saint Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787) I wish you and yours, goodness, kindness, mercy and love. Have a wonderful day and be safe.

On a personal note.
Trinbagoians
you know what is ice-blocks. Well I used to love buying a milk block from Miss
Lions at recess.
My
icemaker suddenly stopped working. I don’t get worked up about anything so I started
making ice in three small stainless steel bowls. Sarah as usual started to
complain… ‘Lord the ice maker needs repairing and in the mean time we need ice
trays’. I just shook my head because when the water in the bowls freezes, I
break up the ice with a spoon and that is that. Anyway Harold bought ice trays
and I decided to make chocolate ice blocks. I melted some Milo in hot water then I added
evaporated milk and condensed milk. (Yummy) Poured it into the ice trays and put
them into the freezer. Two hours later I gave Paul and Sarah block to taste.
“Mom
what is this? This is good,” Paul said.
“How
come I never tasted this before? Mom what is going on?” Sarah said.
“We never had ice trays before so I never thought about making it,” I said.
“We never had ice trays before so I never thought about making it,” I said.
“I
am going to be 26 years and I never had this. Thank God the ice maker broke
down.”
“I
am still lucky, I am going to be 19 and I
did not have to get to the 20s before I tasted yummy-ness.”
Yesterday
I made sea moss blocks. Up to late last night I heard one of them in the
kitchen with a glass and a spoon…
Enjoy
your day and be safe.

My father used to say ‘The truth will
set you free’. It really does. You no longer clutch the burden so the weight is
off.
I believe truth is the key that opens
the door to the change you have been wanting for. Yet you are afraid to try
something new because the old is embedded in you. Let go and let God. Truth is
newness. Speaking truth is honesty. It rejuvenates the mind, body and soul... PEACE.
A wonderful safe day to you and yours.

“Quotes I like”
I
have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord make my
enemies ridiculous." And God granted it. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)
Nothing
would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a
pleasure as well as a necessity. ―
Voltaire (1694-1778)
We
must cultivate our own garden. When man was put in the garden of Eden he was
put there so that he should work, which proves that man was not born to rest. ―
Voltaire (1694-1778)
Life
is thickly sown with thorns, and I know no other remedy than to pass quickly
through them. The longer we dwell on our misfortunes, the greater is their
power to harm us. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)
Stand
upright, speak thy thoughts, declare the truth thou hast, that all may share;
Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare. ― Voltaire
(1694-1778)

Happy Sunday to you and Yours. Have a nice day and be safe.
Life
is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only
creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in
whatever way they like. ― Lao Tzu (604 BC, Zhou Dynasty)

A delightful day to you and yours. I hope today is a better day for you than yesterday. Enjoy it and be safe.
It's been
seven hours and fifteen days, Since you took your love away. I go out every
night and sleep all day, Since you took your love away. Since you been gone I
can do whatever I want. I can see whomever I choose. I can eat my dinner in a
fancy restaurant. But nothing, I said nothing can take away these blues, 'Cause
nothing compares. Nothing compares to you
It's been so
lonely without you here. Like a bird without a song. Nothing can stop these
lonely tears from falling. Tell me baby where did I go wrong? I could put my
arms around every boy I see. But they'd only remind me of you. I went to the
doctor n'guess what he told me. Guess what he told me. He said girl you better
try to have fun. No matter what you'll do. But he's a fool
'Cause nothing compares. Nothing compares to you.
All the
flowers that you planted mama, In the back yard. All died when you went away. I
know that living with you baby was sometimes hard. But I'm willing to give it
another try. Nothing compares. Nothing compares to you. Nothing compares.
Nothing compares to you. Nothing compares. Nothing compares to you.'Cause nothing compares. Nothing compares to you.

Last
night was a sleepless night for me and my family because there were loud noises
outside. Con Edison was doing some electrical repairs.
A backhoe was digging up the road and throwing the boulders into a truck… baddang
baddang! A drill was digging… digdigdigdigdigdigdigdig! Loud human voices echoes in the night. I kept drifting
in and out of sleep. Con Ed did not even inform us that they would be doing
work all night long. They finally stopped working around 6
o’clock this morning. The only time Con Ed likes you is when you
pay your bill.
Enjoy
your day and be safe.

One day I heard a pastor say when you pray and ask for a blessing let it go. You do not have to keep praying about the same thing over and over. I believe that you should read your bible and not depend on your pastor to sermonize it for you. You should read one chapter a day, starting from Genesis. A wonderful safe day to you and yours.
The Parable of the Persistent
Widow
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they
should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a
judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a
widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
“For some time he refused. But finally he said
to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet
because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so
that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust
judge says. And will not God bring about
justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he
keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice,
and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the
earth?” Luke 18:1-8.

My hymn for the day. Enjoy your day and be safe.
I went up to the mountain.
Because you asked me to.
Up over the clouds. To where
the sky was blue.
I could see all around me.
Everywhere. I could see all around me. Everywhere.
Some days I look down. Afraid
I will fall.
And though the sun shines. I see nothing at all
And though the sun shines. I see nothing at all
But I hear your sweet voice.
Coming and go…
Telling me softly. You love
me so.

God never fails. He always delivers. Pay attention to your blessing. Enjoy your day and be safe. A Small Green Island by Rumi (A year with Rumi Daily Readings by Coleman Barks)
There
is a small green island where one white cow lives, alone, a meadow of an island.
The cow grazes until nightfall, full and fat, but during the night she panics
and grows thin as a single hair. “What shall I eat tomorrow? There’s nothing
left!” By dawn the grass has grown up again, waist-high. The cow starts eating
and by dark the meadow is clipped short. She is full of strength and energy,
but she panics in the darkness as before and grows abnormally thin overnight.
The cow does this over and over, and this is all she does. She never thinks, This
meadow has never failed to grow back. Why should I be afraid every night that
it won’t. The cow is the bodily soul. The island field is this world where that
grows lean with fear and fat with blessing, lean and fat. White cow, don’t make
your self miserable with what’s to come or not to come.

Harmony is HAPPINESS!
Your
eyes roam when you wake up. Your hands touch when you move. Your body is caressed
by the air. Listening you hear the vibrations around. As you rise you are in
harmony with your senses and the feeling is good. THAT IS HAPPINESS!
Thank
God, for making me, see another day. Have a nice day and be safe.

words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” ―

When I was in Trinbago in 2011, one of my sisters took me to a
shopping center. We went to a couple of clothing stores, but then we ended up
in a book store. After paying for some books I asked the casher who buys books
for the store?” She looked at me with a serious face then she said in a fake
American accent, “We don’t buy books from Trinidad authors; we
buy books from American authors.”
“I looked at her and smiled then I said, “Okay.” I turned to
walk away, my sister looked at me smiling I chuckled and shook my head. As we
walked out of the store I said, “She sounded so ignorant. Her attitude reminds me
of a line in Proverbs, ‘The fool takes no delight in understanding, but rather
in displaying what he thinks’. She did not know what I was going to say to her.”
“True. Sounded brainless,’ my sister said.
I said, “Her accent takes the cake. According to daddy, ‘Sometimes
you have to leave de damn fool alone. They go make yuh sin yuh soul oui.” (Walk
away from them.)

Some people really need a squatty potty. They are full of shit. They treat their wife, husband or partner very bad. When their significant other walks away they cry, beg … trying to convince them that they are sorry and they would treat them better. You cannot rehabilitate an abuser. When you walk away, keep walking do not go back. I hope you are having a nice day. Enjoy and be safe.

“You can say and think what you want about yourself, but know that negative words and thoughts take over your life and sucks your energy!”
Tina
Turner is a good example of what aging should look like. She is 77 and she
looks beautiful and fit. Yesterday my husband’s Tanty Mona called me from
Trinbago. We were having a very nice conversation until she said that she was
old and just waiting on the LORD.
“What
is old? God never said to sit down and wait until he calls you. You need to
stop saying that. You are in your 70s and all your faculties are working. The
only thing that you are having problems with is your hip and the doctors are going
to take care of it. Every time I walk I used to have to walk with my cane, but since
I stated exercising, cut out sugar, dairy and wheat, I have no aches and pains,
I use the cane less. I am not getting old. I am getting younger and fit.”
“Allison
you are so right. I am going to stop saying I am old.”
“Sounds good to me!”

I am heading to the doctor for a visit. No emergency, just hoping and trusting in the LORD that all is well with me. A blessed safe day to you and yours.
“Our father, Who art in
heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy WILL be done on earth as it
is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who respass against us; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen ”

On
Saturday night in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District, Will Smith’s —(former
Saints defensive end), Mercedes G63 SUV, was rear-ended by a driver of a Hummer
H2 causing Smith to hit another vehicle.
After
exchanging words with the driver of the Hummer, Smith was shot multiple times
and his wife, Racquel was shot twice in the right leg. Smith died and his wife
was taken to the hospital.

Ps. 101:1-3 Of Kindness and judgment I will sing; to you, O LORD,
I will sing praise. I will persevere in the way of integrity; when will you
come to me? I will walk in the integrity of my heart, within my house. I will
not set before my eye any base thing. Amen.
6-7. My eyes are upon the faithful of the land that they may dwell with me.
He who walks in the way of integrity shall be in my service. He shall not dwell
within my house who practices deceit. He who speaks falsehood shall not stand
before my eyes. Amen.

Happy Thursday to you and yours.
Remember that your friends are not your child or children’s friends. Pay
close attention to the uncomfortable feeling.
I know many of you read my
story about the kidnapper but every April memories of it comes to mind and I
re-post. Paul is going to be 26 years this year and I thank God I know where he
is.
“The Kidnapper”
There
are times in your life you have to say thank God for giving you a six sense,
intuition, perception, etc… I had to go to the store to buy something. A
feeling of trepidation was the store there were about five people shopping. One
woman stood out. She was wearing a green shirt. It was the exact color as the
one that I was wearing. When she looked my way, I felt more anxious and I
started to question myself. “Why am I feeling this way?” I decided not to
browse… just get the item, pay for it and leave the store. The moment I got it,
I stood in line and I held on to Paul’s hand. When I got to in my heart and I
did not want to go, but I needed the item. Paul was three years old, and he was
home from daycare, so I had to take him with me. Since I was having an
uncomfortable feeling in my heart, I held his hand and made sure he was next to
me at all times. When we arrived at the cashier, I put my item on the counter,
let go of Paul’s hand, opened my handbag and took out my wallet. As I was about
to pay, I looked down for him. He was not there so I called out to him, but
there was no answer. I kept shouting his name and my intuition was saying to
me, “Go to the front door”, so I ran to it. I asked the security guard who was
standing near the door, if he saw a little boy wearing a red tee shirt and blue
jeans. He told me a woman walked out with a little boy who was wearing those
same color clothes. I ran out of the store onto the sidewalk. The lady in the same
color shirt was holding Paul’s hand, waiting to get on the bus… I shouted his
name he looked around, and said, “Mommy?” then he looked up at the lady. I
screamed for him to come and he pulled away from her. She saw me running
towards them and she started running away from him. When I got to him, I picked
him up and held him tightly. He started to cry and he told me that the woman
looked like me. I kept looking at the woman as she sprinted away…

The dollar devils are in a panic because
news of their money laundering, money disappearing, money thievery is out. The
dollar devils whose names are not on the present list were told that another
list is coming out with their names. These dollar devils made this world poor.

Mothers, do you
know that you are your child/children’s role model? Look at the things they do and
you will see how much of your mannerism they emulates. That is how much your child/children
love you. Fathers if you want your child/children to hate you, make their mother
cry.
A wonderful
safe day to you and yours.

We are all touched by shame in
our life, but what can you do? It is a part of life our growing experiences.
What I know is that shame hits you like a ton of bricks causing all kinds of negative
emotions. It is one of the hardest things to overcome. The situation that
caused the embarrassment no longer exists so you cannot be shamed twice or a
third time, but we hold on to it. Say God I give it to you then let it go. Leave
it to God. Have a nice safe day.

Think before you say or do anything. Do not act or answer in haste
Whatever is
begun in anger; ends in shame. ―Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
I remember one day when I was in my teenage
years I was going shopping. While walking by a neighbor’s house I heard some
loud talking. The neighbor’s son was building a wooden cart and his father was
quarreling with him because he did not like the way that his son was doing it. His
father was so angry when he said, “Give me the damn hammer! Ah go do it for mih
shitten self!”
He grabbed
the hammer with great force that it was raised in the air, then it came down
with great force, missing the nail and it landed on his finger.
“Oh God! Mih
finger. Yuh see what yuh make mih do!’ He started to shake his hand as he said,
“Oh gosh, Oh shit, mih finger!” Hastily he walked to the step which led into
the house and he sat down on it. I kept watching as I walked on. The neighbor’s
son looked at me and he smiled sneakily. I smiled but when I look at the
neighbor, I quickly turned my head because he looked as though he wanted to cry…
Enjoy your
day and be safe.

I got up this morning at my usual hour, 4am and I thanked God for making me see
another day. I felt real good so I showered, dress in my track suit, sneakers.
Put my hair in ponytail and headed out for a long walk. Arrived home, had a cup
of coffee with evaporated milk and condensed milk. Showered prepared my husband
breakfast and lunch. He headed out to work. I said my prayers and did a bit of
meditation, now I am writing this.
After all a girl could salivate a little bit about her coffee
drinking days because it is ALL FOOLS DAY !
Have a wonderful safe day.
