“Always A Hysterical Moment”
My husband on his
way to work called and asked me what I was doing? I told him I am drinking

“Who Is Ugly”
One day a man in
drab clothes was standing outside a store. He was not bothering anyone. The
store owner —a very insulting kind of man, said to the poor man, “Why the hell,
don’t you move your ugly ass from here!?” The poor man looked at him and said,
“Son you calling me ugly? God did not make anybody ugly, but when your heart is
ugly, then you see people as ugly.
My husband made
me laugh this morning with that ugly story. I hope a loved one or someone else
brings a burst of laughter to you. A wonderful safe Sunday to you and yours. I
wish today is a better day for you than yesterday.

Yesterday after a

“He is just like
dad,” My daughter said.
“Yes he is and
they can be so damn annoying especially, when you really don’t care about the
result of the situation…
One thing I know

annoying, but inspiring to me and my writing…

“She Acted Docile” (Part 3)
Joanne’s attitude
towards Michael when she was in public was that of a docile woman. Humble,
loving and kind were some of the words that were used to describe her. Michael
was deemed to be a dominating man.
Lisa had a
different outlook about them. Her father was loving and kind, but Joanne was
wicked. When she was very young, Joanne told her that she must stay out of her
way. Go outside and stay until she calls he into the house. If it was raining,
she can take a seat on the porch. Lisa felt hurt, but she did what she was
told. After breakfast if she did not have school, she would go and sit under a
tree in the yard.
Gregory called Joanne
and invited her to a Bar-B-Q. He told her that she, Michael and their children
were invited, but not Lisa.
“Why can’t we
bring her?”
“You know people will
question the difference between you and her and I am not the mood to answer
that question today. Are you?
“You are right.”
The day of the bar-b-q they were all getting dressed, while Lisa was in the yard.
Michael asked
Joanne, “Is Lisa, getting dressed?”
“She is not
going.”
“Why? Is she
ill?”
“No.”
“Then she should
get dressed.”
“Gregory said
that people will ask questions about her and you know she looks like Teresa.”
“She will be home
alone. I am not going.”
“Why!?
“I cannot believe
you are asking me that. She is a child and we will be gone for more than 5
hours.
“She is 13 years old and she can stay home by herself. If she has a problem she can go to one of the
neighbor’s for help.”
“It is not right
to leave her.”
“You had your little fun time with my best friend and Lisa was the result of it. I took the hurt and embarrassment of your folly for 13 years. Today I am asking for one day with my husband and our children, without any hurtful embarrassing moments.”
“You had your little fun time with my best friend and Lisa was the result of it. I took the hurt and embarrassment of your folly for 13 years. Today I am asking for one day with my husband and our children, without any hurtful embarrassing moments.”
“Okay. You are
right. I will speak to her.”
Michael walked
out of the bedroom and Joanne smiled cunningly…
“Fry Day
I just took out
the seasoned chicken —for the chicken eaters in my home and the seasoned fish —for
the fish eaters in my home, from the deep freeze. I am going to fry it all~
Serve it with oven bake and a salad. Thank God it's Fry Day~ Fry Day~~~~

“Getting Old”
You
are on the bus and it stops for you to get off. You get to the steps and you
look down and you wonder, ‘Why the driver, doesn’t lower the steps?’ So you
stand there and he lowers the step. You step down and you get to the last step,
wondering ‘Why the hell is the ground so far from the last step?’ That’s one
way of knowing that you are getting old…

“A Very Nice Day”
Yesterday
my childhood friend —Ozra Nellyne
Peters dropped by. Our fathers were friends and that’s how we met. I can safely
say that I have know her for more than 50 years. She always had a calm spirit
and was kindhearted. We have not seen each other in 24 years and yesterday when
we met it was as though we saw each other the day before. To my friend Ozra, I
wish for you all that you wish for yourself. A wonderful safe day to you and
yours.
“Good Morning To You”
We
were all born with a ‘GIFT ~~~TALENT’! We sometimes
look at the other person as they make the most of it, and we turn a blind-eye
to ours, wanting theirs~ Your ‘GIFT ~~~TALENT’ lies dormant
as you put your energy into taking the other person’s. Learn to love and accept
who you are and what you have.
‘It only takes a little to make it big’.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don't
compare or compete, everybody will respect you. ― Lao Tzu (604 BC, Zhou

“A Greedy Man” ( Part 2)
Joanne’s
brother — Gregory had a cocoa plantation. He had a large
order for cocoa beans so he asked her husband — Michael to help him harvest the cocoa and he would pay him. Michael
agreed. They harvested the cocoa on Saturday and Sunday. Starting from 6:00AM to
3:00PM. After two tireless days, they had 6 crocus bags of cocoa beans. 4:00AM
Monday morning, they went to the wholesale market. The cocoa beans brought
Gregory a hefty sum of $2,000. He sat in the van, counted the money in front of
Michael, put it in his briefcase, then he started the van and drove Michael home.
When he got to Michael’s house, he stopped the van, dipped his hand in his
shirt pocket pulled out $100. “Thanks for your help. This is for you,” Gregory
said.
Michael
was shocked that he was only going to be paid $100, but he took the money.
Turned and walked through the front gate. When he got into the house Joanne
asked, “How was your weekend?”
I
worked very hard for 2 fucking days and my labor was worth $100. You can have
it, but I am never going to be your brother’s jackass again. You can tell him I
said that!”
“That
is all the money he gave you?”Joanne asked.
“Yes.”
Joanne
sucked her teeth then she said, “The way he acts is making me regret signing over
my land to him.”
“What
did you say!?”
“For many months, he pleaded with me, to give him the 15 acres of land our parents left me, so last month I signed it over to him.”
“For many months, he pleaded with me, to give him the 15 acres of land our parents left me, so last month I signed it over to him.”
“I
am your husband and you never told me that you were going to do something so
stupid! We have children! What about them!”
“He
told me that he would give those I care about a piece when the time comes.”
“Your
brother is a greedy man and he has his own personal fool, but I am not going to
be one of them!”…

“Through The Eyes Of A Child”
Innocence
is genuine~ tender~ loving. It is a gift. Many people steal innocence. “I
detest that!”
When
you were a child you did not care about the looks of a human being — Handsome~ Pretty~ Beautiful. The only
thing you cared about was the way you were treated~
On
this beautiful sunny Friday morning I wish you love~ kindness and I hope today

“Quote To Think About”
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to
succeed is always to try just one more time. —Thomas A. Edison (1847-1931)
What is new in the world? Nothing. What is old in the world?
Nothing. Everything has always been and will always be. — Sai Baba (1926-2011)
What matters is to live in the present, live now, for every moment
is now. It is your thoughts and acts of the moment that create your future. The
outline of your future path already exists, for you created its pattern by your
past. — Sai Baba (1926-2011)
Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a
challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer
it. Life is love - enjoy it. — Sai Baba (1926-2011)
Taking
the first step with a good thought, the second with a good word and the third
with a good deed, I entered Paradise. — Zoroaster (628BC-551BC)
“Ego Speaks”
Many
grasp at ego making it their guide to daily living.
Some
people love to tell me that God said, "Love one another even our enemies." … hmm. So
what they are really saying I am
suppose to love the wicked, hurtful, heartbreaking, dominating egotistical
characters out there~ Well my heart has a mind of her own. You hurt her she is
not going to love you and I cannot make her do what she does not want to do. My
heart is not phony~ cannot pretend~ Just not a hypocrite and I am not going
to force the point.
On
this beautiful Thursday morning I hope today is a better day for you and yours
than yesterday. Have a wonderful safe day…

My father
would have been 100 years old today~ I miss the great moments, sitting on the
porch and just talking to him~ The moment when we were in awe as hundreds of
yellow butterflies flew down the street towards the swamp~ The days when he
would walk by the refrigerator, sit on the couch, then call me to hand him a
glass of ice-water~ I loved him and he loved me~ 17 years ago he went home to
rest…
“Good Morning”
Today
I woke up at 4:00AM and I had a quiet moment of silence, thanking and praising
God for making me see another day~ It felt real good.
5:00AM the hustle and bustle started to get my husband out to work, my daughter to
school, my son has a late class and I have a lot to say so I am writing…
Be
truthful~ Be wise~ Be loving~ Be kind~
I
hope today is a better day for you. A blessed safe day to you and yours

“The Little Witch”
I
used to be a helper in my son’s 1st grade class. This class was
filled with smart children and I sometimes felt a bit intimidated by them. I
was used to my son asking questions and the answer was always on my lips. When the
children in his class asked me a question, I answered most of them, but some of
the questions just had me bewildered.
One
day I decided to do a project with them, the moment the teacher asked me to
take over the class. This project was supposed to avoid questions. I
started handing out paper, while I was informing them of what we were going to
do. One girl in the class who always acted as though she was valedictorian,
walked over to where I was standing. I ignored her, but she touched my hand
then she said, “Miss Joseph, can I help? I know what you want us to do so I can
show the class?”
I
told her to please sit and do the project, there was going to be a reward for
the best one, so I did not want her to miss out on the chance to win. She sat
in her seat and when I got to her and handed her the sheet of paper, she said, Miss.
Joseph you are very kind and thoughtful. Can you spell thoughtful? For a moment
I stood there looking at her dumbfound. The word and the letters started
flipping around and around in my head. Then she said, “Miss Joseph you cannot
spell thoughtful? That little word?” She spoke in a loud tone and the rest of
the class looked at me. My son’s face became flushed and then he said. “Yes she
can. My mommy is a good speller. Mom, spell it for them.”
And
I shouted, “T H O U G H T F U L!”
They
started to clap and the little Witch said, “Paul, your mommy is smart.”
I
was cussing in my mind because this little witch just tried to embarrass me.
So
today ignore the intimidator. A wonderful optimistic day to you and yours…

“Quotes of Silence”
Silence is the mother of truth. ― Benjamin Disraeli – (1804-1881)
The cruelest lies are often told in silence. ― Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)
Under all speech that is good for anything there lies a silence
that is better, Silence is deep as Eternity; speech is shallow as Time. ― Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)
The water in a vessel is sparkling; the water in the sea is dark.
The small truth has words which are clear; the great truth has great silence. ― Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)
Much talking is the cause of danger. Silence is the means of
avoiding misfortune. The talkative parrot is shut up in a cage. Other birds,
without speech, fly freely about. — Saskya Pandita (1182-1251)
Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing,
only a signal shown, and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of
life, we pass and speak one another, only a look and a voice, then darkness
again and a silence. ― Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)
Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know
that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences,
all events are blessings given to us to learn from. — Elisabeth Kubler-Ross (1926-2004)
I wash my hands of those who imagine chattering to be knowledge,
silence to be ignorance, and affection to be art. ― Khalil Gibran (1883-1931)
He who does not understand your silence will probably not
understand your words. ― Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915)
“Silence”
There
is actually a sweet peace in silence. Yesterday was a quiet day for me although
there were lots of distractions… The television with all the unpleasant news~
The radio with the upbeat music~ The telephone ringing very often yet I was in
a state of silence. I let life flow taking it as it flowed. I could count the
times my children asked me, “Mom are you okay?” My answer was ‘Yes’, but I knew
that, that question was going to be asked over and over, so I waited until the 10th time they
asked to say, yes, but why do you ask?”
“You
look so serious and quiet.”
“I
am okay and I feel great.”
“Are
you sure?”
“Yes.”
They
both said okay but ‘Are you okay kept coming at me?’
On
this beautiful Saturday I wish you and yours peace, love, safety and a moment of silence…

“She Was Hated For Being Born” (Part 1)
Michael —Single.
Monica
—Married. Having an affair with Michael. Six children came out of
the marriage. Five were Michael’s and one her husband’s.
Jane —Single. Monica’s best friend.
She was having sexual relations with Michael and had a baby for him.
Joanne — Single. Had a child from a
previous relationship. She and Michael started dating. He eventually marries
her, but he was still having sex with Monica and Jane. Joanne and Michael had 6
children.
Teresa —Married. Joanne’s best friend.
Teresa’s husband was studying abroad.
Eight
years into Michael and Joanne’s marriage, Michael and Teresa told Joanne that
they had sex on one occasion, it was a mistake, they are very sorry, but Teresa
was pregnant.
Michael
and Teresa both started to cry asking her to forgive them. Joanne also cried.
After all the tears she told them that she forgive them. They also told her
that Teresa needs to keep her pregnancy a secret, her husband must never find
out about the baby and when she delivers, she and Michael should take the baby
home. Joanne agreed.
The
three of them worked hard at keeping their secret. After Teresa’s first
trimester, she stayed at home, a midwife visited her and Joanne did her
shopping. Everything went well and although neighbors suspected that something
fishy was going on, they said nothing. Teresa eventually gave birth to a
healthy baby girl. A week later the baby was registered. Written on the
birth paper. Baby —Lisa. Father —Michael. Mother —Joanne, etc.
Michael
and Joanne took Lisa home. Teresa was heartbroken, but she loved her husband
and he loved her. If he finds out about Lisa it will tear them apart.
Joanne
felt a loathing for baby Lisa and she treated her badly, when Michael was not
at home. When Lisa turned 5, her children started to question the
differences between them and Lisa. Joanne eventually got her children together
and she told them the family secret. She made them promise that they will never
tell Lisa or anyone else the secret. Joanne became teary then she started to
sob. Her eldest child hugged her, while the other children whispered how wrong
the situation was. The Eldest said, “She is not your child and she is making
you cry, so do not expect us to be kind to her.”
“Your
father loves Lisa a lot so do not let him see you all mistreating her.”
“Did
you all hear what mom said?” The Eldest asked his brothers and sisters and they
all told him yes.
Lisa
suffered physical and mental abuse and she couldn’t wait to become an adult to leave
her home. She felt as though she was hated for being born…

“I Am Amazed”
I
did not say anything to you about a near tragedy in my family. Yesterday my
husband was on his way to a job assignment. He was a passenger in the company’s
van. The van was involved in an accident with a NYPD car. I am amazed that a
video is out on youtube. The person that they were trying to stabilize is my
husband, he is the man on the gurney. He was taken to the hospital and now he
is at home resting.

“I remember how tragic 12 years ago today was.”
I woke
up the morning of 9/11/2001 at 5:00AM, feeling good. My husband left for work,
my son for school and I was getting my daughter dressed for Daycare. The
television was on, but I was not looking or listen to it.
My
daughter said, “Mommy look, the building burning.”
Fire
and black smoke was coming from one of the World Trade Center buildings. It was
so surreal that I said, “They are probably filming a movie.” (Oh how I wish
that a movie was being filmed on that heartbreaking day).”
I
dropped my daughter to Daycare, hurried home and sat in front of the
television. A plane came on the screen. It was flying towards WTC and I thought
that this was a replay of the first plane crash. I gasped in shocked, as the
reporter said that this was another plane. I looked through the window and
thick black smoke was moving across the sky. The reporter then said that
another plane crashed into the Pentagon. This was the third plane that crashed
into buildings. I wondered what was going on and my heart was racing. A bitter
taste was in my mouth… Fear was embedded deep within me, but I was thinking
that man was at it again. He was hell bent on hurting man…

“On A Personal Note”
Showers
or baths on a morning makes many people late for work/school, etcetera. Most people
would stay a long time in the shower. In my opinion a long shower or bath should
be taken at nights. On mornings when you step into the shower, you should soap
the body parts, rinse then get out of the shower. Time to dress. I’m sure you will
save time…
Make
today an early arrival to work/school etcetera, etcetera, day.
A
blessed safe day to you and yours…

“Just A Reminder”
16 TIPS TO HELP YOUR CHILD
ENJOY READING.
1. Ask him/her the genre that
they like and buy/or get a book from the library.
2. The book, must not be,
more than 100 pages.
3. Read everyday.
4. Read aloud.
5. During your reading time, DON ’T ANSWER THE TELEPHONE. THE
TELEVISION AND THE RADIO MUST BE TURNED OFF.
6. If there are other
children in the home, let them all sit and listen to the story.
7. Let your child know that
you will be reading together.
8. You start reading first.
9. It does not matter what
the story is about – you could make it exciting and interesting by the tone of
your voice and also by your actions.
10. Read the first page then
ask your child to read aloud the second page.
11. Do not stop your child
while he/she is reading. Let him/her continue reading.
12. When your child asks you
to stop reading, you may do so, but if you feel you should continue, say to
him/her. “I like this story. May I read a little more?” In most cases they
would say yes… Read a little more then tell your child you would continue the
story the next day.
13. Ask your child his/her opinion of the story.
This is your moment to spend quality time together, to share thoughts, ideas
and experiences with each other.
14. If your child needs to
point at the words in the book to read, it’s okay to let him/her do that.
15. If you are tired say to your child. “I am
tired, but I want to hear the story. Can you please read to me? Let him/her

“Quotes I Like”
Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People
as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I
don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future. ― Audrey Hepburn, (1929-1993)
And I don't believe that melodramatic feelings are laughable -
they should be taken absolutely seriously. — Rainer Werner Fassbinder (1945-1982)
I will laugh at the laughable while I breathe. — Mary Boykin Chesnut (1823-1886)
“I think I Am Lucky”
The
seat I find in a room always puts me near to some hysterical people.
“When
was the last time you saw Michael?” First woman said.
“The
last time I saw him, he was talking about his wife. He always have something
bad to say about her. Daniel and Teresa were listening to him and I know them
swallow that shit,” Said the second woman.
“He
is so annoying. Everytime I hear him talk I feel like reminding him how he was a
dunce in school,” Said first woman.
“True
and when Miss Fulliton buss he tail he used to cry… eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” Said
second woman.
The
both of them started to laugh and I smiled but my brain was in hysterical
mode...
A
blessed safe Sunday to you. I hope this day is filled with joy and laughter for you.

"A Better Day Than Yesterday"
So
many people are going through situations that are vexatious to the spirit.
“Thank God for making me see another day. Thank you God for everything. I know
what I am faced with so far as the day is progressing. I don't know what you
are faced with but I hope today is a better day than yesterday, for you and
yours…

“My Book List”
The moment I arrived home on the last day of Elementary School, I had to give my mother, my report card and the book list for the next grade.
The moment I arrived home on the last day of Elementary School, I had to give my mother, my report card and the book list for the next grade.
The summer
holiday would be going great until my father say to my mother, “I want to buy
those children school books. Give me their book lists.” She would give him the
lists and he would purchase the books.
I get upset
because he would eventually say, “Allison bring your book-bag.” I would bring the
bag and he would take out my reading book, open it on what he wanted to hear
and then say, “Read!”
Everyday I had to
read and that was interfering with my holiday, but today I am glad he did
encourage me to read.
As the summer
holiday started my daughter had me buy her two books and the moment she was
finished reading one she said her usual words, “Mom you have to read this
book.”
My son said, “Not
before she finishes reading the books I gave her.” My husband said, “I gave her
two books before the both of you did!”
“Guys, I am writing
and editing,” I said.
“You have to read
the books,” My son said.
“Mom make some
time,” My daughter said.
“Yes take a
break. Read the books,” My husband said.
You guys need to
read my books,” I said.
“We did,” They
said.
“Only your father
did.”
“Mom you write
Romance and Children's books,” My son said.
“But we read the
children’s books,” My daughter said and her brother second that.
“Okay."

and not to seek for rest, to labor, and not to ask for any reward, save that of
knowing that we do thy will.” ―St. Ignatius de Loyola (1491-1556)
“Disrespectful Ill-mannered Undignified”
Where did these vulgar, heatless, degrading, earthy just shameful
people living in Trinidad and Tobago came from? They have no respect for women.
They don’t love their mothers. I would hate to think that this was the work of
a father with a daughter/s.
Last week the picture was about an elderly women on the ground
with her underwear exposed and a dog gnawing at her. The photographer claims
that she was already dead when the filming was taking place. A crude heartless
photographer!
This week ―A picture
of another elderly woman with
a part of her body exposed on the newspaper. A disrespectful, ill-mannered,
undignified photographer!
I would hate to think that any of these characters taking these
pictures are relatives of mine...

drained~ Now when I see one coming on I politely bow out~ To me it makes no
sense wasting time on things that violates your peace~ On this beautiful
Tuesday do not let that confrontational spirit override your peace~

“Very Noteworthy Quotes”
If all misfortunes were laid in one common heap whence everyone
must take an equal portion, most people would be contented to take their own
and depart. ― Socrates (469- 399 BCE )
A good education is that which prepares us for our future sphere
of action and makes us contented with that situation in life in which God, in

lot in life, whatever it may be. ―
Ann
Plato (Born 1820 or 1824 Death unknown)

caregiver~

“Quotes To Think About”
Human
nature is evil, and goodness is caused by intentional activity. ― Xun Zi 313 BC-238 BC)
Today we are afraid of simple words like goodness and mercy and
kindness. We don't believe in the good old words because we don't believe in
good old values anymore. And that's why the world is sick. ― Lin Yutang (1895-1976)
Just as a mother finds pleasure in taking her little child on her
lap, there to feed and caress him, in like manner our loving God shows His
fondness for His beloved souls who have given themselves entirely to Him and
have placed all their hope in His goodness. ― Saint Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787)
Our awesome responsibility to ourselves, to our children, and to
the future is to create ourselves in the image of goodness, because the future
depends on the nobility of our imaginings. ― Barbara Grizzuti Harrison (1934-2002)
Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens
to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs
most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person
to listen to his own goodness and act on it. ― Pablo Casals ( 1876-1973)
Evil is committed without effort, naturally, fatally; goodness is
always the product of some art. ― Charles
Baudelaire (1821-1867)
