My father was a surveyor and one of my sisters is a geologist. Listening to them talk about the land and its vegetation, rivers and streams, I know that this flooding in Trinidad and Tobago is happening because of the destruction of the vegetation, rivers and streams.  I grew up in Trinidad and yes, some areas used to flood but that was in the lowline areas. In a matter of one to two days the water used to run off. Today you can see that the water has nowhere to run. Many people are squatting in areas that are not conducive to live. They cut down the vegetation that holds the land in place. They build their homes near streams and rivers. They dump their garbage in rivers and streams, blocking the water way. Stop acting as though the land belongs to you and you can do what the hell you want to do with it.

A wonderful safe day to you and your family. Trinboganians, take a good look at yourself and see what you have been doing to the land.

Thanks be to God, it is Saturday and we are living. Amen and Amen to that. Have a nice day. Enjoy and be safe.
Black people, I believe that our ancestors cringe when they see the things that we do. Many of us disrespect them. Not loving yourself. I look at some people I know, their skin tone is a rich dark color, but they do things to make themselves a lighter shade. I am seeing some pictures of people looking a lighter shade. Fading a dark skin tone makes the skin glow a yellow tinge. It looks unreal making them look like a character from another era. Before you try fading yourself, think about your ancestors. The people you love and want to look like; disrespected, insulted, brutalized, dehumanized, degraded and dishonored our Africans ancestors. Start respecting and loving the people who suffer hardship, adversity, poverty and destitution to make sure you live. Stop wanting to be like and look like the people who hate a black man. Fading your skin will not make him love you.

Thanks be to God it is Friday and we are living. Amen and amen to that. Enjoy your day and be safe.
If you tell someone you will do a job no charge, do not tell them a price, when the job is completed.
If you ask someone how much it will cost for them to do a job for you and they say, ‘Don’t worry about it, I will do it for you’. After the job is completed then the worker charges you for work done. Pay them and move on. Don’t ask them to work for you again.
Take the person who makes a price and then you sign an agreement. A stranger is the best person you should allow to do work for you. When the work is completed, pay the amount of your agreement. While the person is doing the job do not add on extra work. If you add on, ask your worker how much more money for the work added on. To the worker if the client adds on more work to the job, stop working and tell them you need a new contract. They need to pay you more money. Some people love to add on to work already agreed upon and they don’t want to pay for it.

There are still good people in this world and there are dishonest people just be aware of who is who. Happy Thursday to you and your family Enjoy your day and be safe.

If you ask someone how much they want to be paid for a job, and they tell you; ‘they don’t know, any amount you feel like paying, whatever you want to pay’, do not let them do the job. If you let them do the job and you pay what you think their work is worth, they will not be pleased with the payment. They will tell who ever will listen that you short changed them.
If you asked someone to do something for you that cost a price, come to an agreement about the price. Pay them the agreed price for the work done. Do not tell the person; the payment is too much for the work they did, you could have gotten it cheaper etcetera.

Happy Tuesday to you and your family. Enjoy your day and be safe.
New rules for my children. If you see a white person and they need help, do not touch them, do not stand near to them, stay as far as possible away from them, but call 911 to get them help.

They walk among us and they hate us. The shit has come to my neighborhood big time. My family and I sometimes buy at this bodega. Every day you hear and see some white person showing their true racist colors and it is scary. When their shit touches our children, the hurt in my heart runs deep. I cried as I heard the precious boy and his sister crying. A White Woman, Teresa Klein, called the police on a precious black boy. She falsely said that he grabbed her ass. The video shows that the child’s backpack might have touched her. I believe the size of her ass doesn’t give her the know how to differentiate how a grope feels or something brushing against you feels. I saw that she is being called, Cornerstore Caroline. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/12/nyregion/woman-calls-police-black-boy-brooklyn.html

Finding a Lost Strain of Rice, and Clues to Slave Cooking

The search for the missing grain led to Trinidad and Thomas Jefferson, and now excitement among African-American chefs.

Black Sailors and Soldiers in the War of 1812
At the end of the war Americans demanded the either the return of ex-slaves or monetary reparations for the loss of property.  With few exceptions, the British refused.  According to custom, a slave arriving on British soil was free; a British ship at war had the status of British land itself.
The British offered the Colonial Marines farmland in Trinidad in February 1816, nearly a year after the end of the war, when the marines refused to be transferred out of naval service into the army as soldiers in the West India Regiments.  Their descendants live in Trinidad still, in freedom, and call themselves "the Merikans."
