I used to get uptight and embarrassed about the name Alphonsus — A name used for a boy. Why did my father like his relatives so much to name me after one of them… hmm. But after years of hiding it I decided that since it is my name I am going to love it. All those who laugh at it~~ Yeah, it’s a good thing. I brought some joy to someone~ Nice real nice.

Allison — Is of German and French origin~ Meaning noble, kind.

Alphonsus — Is of Latin origin~ Meaning noble, ready for battle.

Today I love the expressions on people faces when they look at my birth paper and other documents and see the name Alphonsus. Just hysterical…

I love a Blue Collar worker and I believe it was because of my father talking about the worth of a man who knows a trade, always have a job. That is a fact.

I do not like Insurance Agents and that is because of my father talking about their dishonest, lying, deceitful, false, untruthful, fraudulent, corrupt, unfair, insincere ways~ The shit I am faced with an insurance company, I must say that my father hit the nail on the head so hard with this one that it disappeared.

One of my daughter’s professors called and he said that she has an 85 in his class, but if she turns in the missing assignments it will take her to the 90s. When I told her she was pissed.

“I am not failing so what is the problem? Why the hell is he calling? I  could imagine how many other parents he called and some of them going to act deranged towards their children. Oh shit it is not the end of the freaking world!”

“Do the missing assignments,” I said.

“I will, but what the hell!?”

I smiled because that was the end of that…

It annoys me when a man touches a woman breast instead of apologizing for it he tries to defend himself, as though she is a nobody, and he has the right to do it. “Sleeping Habits Change”

I don’t know if it’s my lifestyle change. Exercising more and eating different. I cut out sugar and I’m using less salt in my diet it was the hardest thing to do, but worth it. I lost 29 pounds and I love it. For the past two weeks I noticed ever night around 7:30pm I would start yawning and some real sweet yawns that say, “You are going to sleep and enjoy it.” I would hop into bed around eight looking at TV and the next thing I know I would wake up at 1:00am then fall back asleep and wake up at 3:00am. When I say wake up I mean wide awake cannot go back to sleep. One night my daughter came into the bedroom and woke me up . She said I wasn’t snoring. If we are not snoring she and her brother would always wake us. I had to explain why I wasn’t. What the… Jesus.

It is time all credentials are checked out.

There are moments in life that you have to say that your lucky stars are working in your favor. After the moment you know it’s God making you aware of how he/she feels about you. This happened to me. Did it ever happen to you?

The phone starts ringing. You look at the number and don’t know it, have two minds about answering then you answer, “Hello.”

No answers, but you hear people talking. You listen to the voices and they sound familiar so you say a name out loud. No answer. You keep listening then you hear your name and realize the conversation is about you. Not one positive thing is being said about you. It’s like you are the worst person in the world.

My son reminded me of a lunch lady who was real nice to the students. She used to give them seconds, but that was against the rules and she got fired. He said the rest of them were mean. One day he forgot his lunch and decided to get lunch. He took three grill cheese sandwiches and one of the mean lunch lady said, “You are only allowed two.” My son told her ok and then he took up one of the sandwiches and licked it all over then he handed it to her. The lady looked at him with a mean look as his friends started to laugh. He said he was sent to the Dean. The Dean laugh, kept him in her office for a while.

On this Thursday, March 13, 2014 the 9^th day of Lent, I am outraged~ annoyed~ irritated~ fuming~ mad~ irate~ heated~ gnashing my teeth~ Just down right livid! Some men are set in their ways. I used to think that they have stepped back in time, but they did not. Their hostilities towards women and children is alive and well.

The amount of inhumane things that they do says that they do not have a peaceful bone in their body. I could only speculate how children and women feel when they are violated. Inflicting pain on anyone is sadistic~ brutal~ cruel and vicious!  

There is a new law in Michigan

Michigan lawmakers passed —“Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act. This law will ban all insurance plans in the state from covering abortion unless the woman’s life is in danger. This law will force women and employers to purchase a separate abortion rider if they would like the procedure covered, even in cases of rape and incest. This “Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act has been nicknamed “RAPE INSURANCE”, because it would force some women to anticipate the possibility of being raped by purchasing the extra abortion insurance ahead of time.

It is scary how hostile some men are to women and children. 

A massive explosion 116th Street and Park Avenue in Harlem. One person died and 16 people injured. A caused has not been determined. Two buildings collapsed.

“Lunch Ladies”

My children did not eat school lunch, but they always had a negative view of the lunch ladies. They said that the women look at you as though you are begging for a meal. Every morning my daughter used to take bacon for her friends. One morning she took three pieces and the lunch lady in an aggressive tone said, “You are only supposed to take 2 pieces.” The Lunch Lady took back the third piece. My daughter said she and her friends started to laugh. I did not think it was funny because they prefer to throw away the food than to give it to the children. 

“Outrageous Situations”

This is America at it’s finest.

Utah, Elementary School kids’ lunches were snatches by a worker and thrown in the trash because there was no money in their accounts. (Some school children are supposed to pay 25¢, 50¢, 75¢ or $1.00 for lunch. It is very hard for some parents although they may be working to come up with an extra dime.)

Salt Lake City Elementary School, lunch was taken out of the hands of 40 children and thrown straight into the garbage because the children had no money left in their lunch account.

One thing I can say about the late Ms. Adams, the principal of PS6 Elementary School, in Brooklyn. When children came in to school on a morning. They were asked if they had or wanted breakfast. If they had breakfast then they were allowed to play in the school yard. All the children under her hands were brilliant students.

I believe one of the most used sin is GREED. This is one greedy world. You think people greedy in joke… hmm. They want you to pay them, but they don’t want to pay you. That is greed.

The second is ENVY. Some people are blinded by jealousy that they set themselves on a mission to discredit somebody.

Jees-an’ages, 2 limes for a $1:00 at the 18^th Street Fruits and Vegetables Market on Church Avenue. To top it off, the limes look as though when you squeeze them you will get more rind than juice.

I saw this story this morning on Trinidad and Tobago week in-review. I pray that the parents get strength and courage to face the days ahead.

I wonder if Trinbagonians are going to sit back, and let this play out without demanding some drastic actions. The parents needs the support of the people of Trinidad and Tobago. All doctors and medical staff in Trinbago credentials should be looked into. This can happen to anyone. I pray that the parents get strength and courage to face the days ahead.

The pass-out game is the new game that school children —Elementary, Junior High etc are playing. Some students died from playing this game. This game is not new. It is sad and scary to know that children started playing this crazy game again. I have read the steps on how to do it, but I am not going to post it. I am not going to help anyone kill him/herself. Please talk to your children and listen. Do not be quick to talk and judge. As my father used to say, “Shut your damn mouth and listen!”

One day, while I was in a store shopping, a little boy slapped me on my butt. I told him not to do that. He started to laugh as he kept trying to do it again. A resident from Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn was walking her dog near Gold and Water Streets around 8:50 p.m. Sunday, when a group of black teens 14-17-years-old attacked her for no apparent reason. One of the teens punched the 36-years-old woman in her face leaving her with an injury to her right eye.
