My
husband and I used to have great conversations with our children at an early age.
When they were 2 years old we let them know that they could tell us anything
and we meant anything. Today that is still the case between us, our 23 and
16 year old.
One
conversation was about our home and that they are supposed to feel comfortable
in it.
Our
friends are not their friends. Be polite to them, but you do not have to be
friends with them.
If
anyone came to visit … The person could be uncle, aunt, cousin, friend, etc., and they make them uncomfortable, let us know.
Always
remember that this is your home and you are not supposed to feel uncomfortable
in it.
Family
and friends visited us and I thank God that we were never faced with any
uncomfortable situations.
Please
have conversations with your children about your home and how much of a safe
haven it is supposed to be for them.
A
peaceful, comfortable, safe day to you and yours…
