“Learn To Appreciate”
A
friend invited me and two other friends —Dian and Joanne, to lunch. Joanne and
I went … Dian couldn’t make it. The ambiance was very nice and lunch was
delicious, but we had to sit and listen to Loraine gripe about Dian’s absence. She
kept complaining, and I was getting upset. I rolled my eyes at Joanne. She gently
kicked my foot and shook her head… for me to be quiet. I pouted my lips and
opened my eyes wide then I smiled. We were doing all these antics, but Loraine did
not see us because she was caught-up in her self-interest. I was enjoying the clowning
around, but I knew if the gripe didn’t stop I was going to flip and I did. “Listen
to me. You invited us to lunch, and Dian could not make it … Joanne and I did.
Why can’t you be thankful that we came to grace you with our presence? You are insulting,
selfish and disrespectful. Learn to appreciate who and what is in front of you.”
