Trinbagonians talk. (168) Life was Real Good an’ it was Worth Livin’ to Live Life. Nostalgic!

I remember how simple and organized life was when I was growing up in Trinidad and Tobago. On Thursdays all groceries and stores were closed for the day by 12:30pm. On Saturdays the market was filled with shoppers buying from the butchers, fish mongers and the farmers. Also, shoppers used to buy from the people who sold munchies---(candy, sugar cakes, fudge, curry or sweet mango, mango anchar, etc.) Saturday and Sunday were the days for worship and family time. On Fridays and/or Saturdays, everybody cleaned their home and their yard thoroughly. The neighborhood looked nice when you walked by a house, the yard was neat and if you looked through a window into someone home, the room looked neat and clean. Everything was spotless and the area smelt clean. Sanitizing was a way of life and then life changed. People got lax! Careless about being sanitary and today we are seeing the repercussions from carelessness! Covid19, but who knows what is going to devastate us next.
