“The Lottery Tickets”
One day while shopping with my
daughter, I suddenly remembered some lottery tickets I had in my wallet. I told
her that we should check them on the little scanning machine in the store. She was
excited when I handed her the thickets. After she scanned the seventh ticket and
the scanner said those tickets were not winners, she said, “Mom this is annoying
… I don’t like the lottery ... Few people win anything … You do it.”
I said, “Okay.” The first
ticket I put in the machine started ringing … winner. “I said, “Nice.” Then I continued
and the rest of the tickets rang off one after the other … I got about fifty
something dollars and then she said, “Mom I love the lottery. Can I please have
that money?”…
