Happy 50th Independence To All Trinidadians + Tobagonians
I was two when we got independence and I do have a bit of sweet memories of the day~ The parade of the defense forces during the day, was stirring~ The fireworks after twilight~ It was the first time I was hearing such a loud sound and I was scared until I saw the pretty~~~ colourful~~~ twinkling lights~ The love people had for each other~ So many changes, but I am holding on to the goodness of sweet Trinidad and Tobago~

“Having A Strong Desire”
We sometimes have a strong desire for something~ In most cases when our wishes come true, we regret that we wished for it in the first place~
Most wishes come true~ They do…

Life is thickly sown with thorns, and I know no other remedy than to pass quickly through them. The longer we dwell on our misfortunes, the greater is their power to harm us. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)

“Twelve Packs Of Sugar”
My Daughter wants to drink a glass of orange soda for breakfast~ I told her I don’t think she should because that is a lot of sugar to start of the day with~
She said, “Oh yeah~ Somebody told me that a glass of soda has about 12 packs of sugar~ I want to know why people assume that I don’t want to eat 12 packs of sugar!?” and she started to laugh~ I don’t know if she was correct, but I chuckled and shook my head …

I Talk To The Trees (Paint Your Wagon)
I talk to the trees~ But they don't listen to me~ I talk to the stars~ But they never hear me~ The breeze hasn't time~ To stop, and hear what I say~ I talk to them all~ in vain~~~~
But suddenly, my words reach someone else’s ear~ At someone else’s heart strings too~~~~
I tell you my dreams~ And while you're listening to me~ I suddenly see them come true~~~
I can see us some April night~ Looking out across a rollin' farm~ Having supper in the candlelight~ Walking later, arm in arm~~~
Then I'll tell you how I pass the day~ Thinking mainly how the night would be~ Then I'll try to find the words to say~ All the things you mean to me~
I tell you my dreams~ And while you're~ Listening to me~ I suddenly see them~ Come true~~~~

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.  Bruce Lee   (1940-1973)

A man reserves his true and deepest love not for the species of woman in whose company he finds himself electrified and enkindled, but for that one in whose company he may feel tenderly drowsy. ― George Jean Nathan (1882-1958)

A kiss makes the heart young again and wipes out the years. Rupert Brooke (1887-1915)

A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous.  ― Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982)

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord make my enemies ridiculous." And God granted it. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)

“Mother Nature”
I believe that Mother Nature creates the disposition in humans, animals, trees … every living thing on the face of this earth is touched by mother nature~ Right now I’m just looking through the window~ Outside looks lifeless~ The leaves on the trees are not moving so there is no breeze~~~~~ The leave suddenly started to delicately move because a gentle breeze flowed by~~~~~ I kept looking at one tree as the leaves flutter softly then they abruptly stopped moving~ No more breeze~ A dreary morning is happening this morning~~~~ Mother nature is doing her thing and she is in charge~~~~~ Here comes the sun…

“What Is Going On”
It is bright outside but the sun is covered by clouds~ It’s very still morning~ Not the sound of a car passing, or a single person talking/passing by, or a single bird singing, or the leaves of the trees rustling~ It is a still~~~ quiet~~~ tranquil morning~ I’m loving the peace of it all~ That is what is going on this morning…

Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her: but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)

God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well. ― Voltaire (1694-1778)

You suppose you are the trouble~ But you are the cure.
You suppose that you are the lock on the door~ But you are the key that opens it.
It's too bad that you want to be someone else~ You don't see your own face, your own beauty.
Yet, no face is more beautiful than yours.
Rumi (1207-1273)

“Crix!”
Big surprise! This morning my husband went to a store and bought all the CRIX they had~ ten bags so I have crix for one week or more~ The owner told him that he wasn’t sure if they will ever get CRIX again because a company by the name of “Finest” bought Bermudez~ Is that true and if it is I hope that Finest don’t plan to kill CRIX~ I know CRIX since I born and that will be a big tragedy if they do…

“Love”
Embracing Tao, you become embraced.
Supple, breathing gently, you become reborn.
Clearing your vision, you become clear.
Nurturing your beloved, you become impartial.
Opening your heart, you become accepted.
Accepting the World, you embrace Tao.
Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
Controlling without authority,
This is love.” ― Lao Tzu (604 BC, Zhou Dynasty)

“PERFECT”
I never thought that I was~
I don’t think that I acted as though I am~
But God showed me last week how imperfect I am~
When a body part hurts that is when you know how important it is and how much you use it~
My knee started hurting one night and you talk about pain~
I took painkillers and rubbed it~
The next morning I was fine so I went about doing my usual everyday thing~
While walking around in the kitchen, the knee pain started then I hit the floor~
Oh drama~~
Now I am wearing a brace~
No more pain, but just aware that I have to exercise more~
Yours truly is on a exercise regime and doing fine~
Perfect~ I’m not…

“I'm concerned about a better world. I'm concerned about justice; I'm concerned about brotherhood; I'm concerned about truth. And when one is concerned about that, he can never advocate violence. For through violence you may murder a murderer, but you can't murder murder. Through violence you may murder a liar, but you can't establish truth. Through violence you may murder a hater, but you can't murder hate through violence. Darkness cannot put out darkness; only light can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)

“Skilful Smart Wonderfully Happy”
I sat in a room filled with women who accomplished what they wanted too and who where still getting there~ The conversation was some-what interesting, yet I was fed-up hearing one of the women talk~ I did not say anything because I thought I was the only one tired of her~ She talked about going to college and graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Education~ An elderly woman said, “Darling, it is absolutely great to accomplish something that you think you are worthy of, but are you skillful~ Do you have commonsense~ Are you happy?”…

Child probably said, “They are sleeping.”
Mother said, “What the F… Wake them up! No teenagers are going to sleep in my house after seven in the morning!”
Child probably said, “We were up very late watching television and on the computer.”
Mother said, I don’t give an ‘F…’ if you’ll were watching television and on the computer after midnight! Wake them ‘F…ers’ up!”
It is a good feeling to know where your children are ~
It is distressing to be wondering where your child/children are~
It is heartbreaking if your child/children passed on…

It hurt because for more than fifty years, I thought they loved me~ Damn!!! Oh what a bitter pill to swallow!

But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can. He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break. “Everyone, at some point in their lives, wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that they are all alone in the world, and that nobody loves them now and that nobody will ever love them, and that they will never have a decent night's sleep again and will spend their lives wandering blearily around a loveless landscape, hoping desperately that their circumstances will improve, but suspecting, in their heart of hearts, that they will remain unloved forever. “LOVE”
“You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there.” ― Bob Marley (1945-1981)

“Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.” ― Robert A. Heinlein,

“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching~ Love like you'll never be hurt~ Sing like there's nobody listening~ And live like it's heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey

“LOVE”
“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” ―Bob Marley (1945-1981)
