December 31, 2017. Thanks be to God we made it. It is very cold and getting colder. My father used to say, “Don’t let the New Year meet you inside. Go outside and feel the New Year breeze.” The moment you hear the clock strikes midnight, gun shots starts to shatter the serenity of the night. We stay inside and thank God for making us see another year. Praying for a better year.

A sad situation. Seven adults and five children were killed in a fire in the Bronx, NY. RIP. Fourteen other people were injured.

Dear God, I pray that the relatives and friends get strength and courage.

I grew up in a home when you woke up on a morning you shower, applied deodorant, and you dressed for school, work or lazing. When you arrived home from school, work or idling you shower and then apply deodorant again. I would apply if I am going out again, if I am staying home I don’t reapply. Anyway, my reason for talking about this is the commercials I am seeing for deodorants that you can reply especially if you sweat a lot.

I know if you have an underarm problem, my parents used to tell us to bathe with a lime. You cut the lime in half take it into the shower. After you soap and rinse off, you rub the lime under your arms then you squeeze the juice, rubbing it under your arm and over your body, rinse off, dry yourself then apply deodorant. Lime juice does work. It makes you sweat less and you smell fresh all day. 

Christmas morning ah helpin’ the wife to put up curtain.

Christmas is coming and you might visit relatives, friends or they might visit you. Pay attention to your children. Your friends are not your children’s friends and children should not sit with the adults. The adult’s conversation should not be for your children’s ears.

If you are sick and you were told that you shouldn’t eat certain foods remember your doctor did not tell you that your family shouldn’t eat it. Especially if you suffer with high blood pressure and your doctor told you to cut down on salt. Cut out salt for yourself not your family.  

A friend was telling me that he never had a problem with his boss for his salary. Last month his boss had a situation with his bank account and the bank freeze the account.

My friend deposited his salary check and everything was fine until his boss’s situation. It caused a really horrible trickle-down effect. His bank cancelled the check and his boss gave him another check which he deposited into his bank account. His bank told him they will only honor one half of the check and they will hold the other half for ten days to make sure the same situation doesn’t occur again.

This is the beginning of what life has suddenly become. You are at the mercy of the dollar devils.
